Volucomm SA

Dr. Luis Perez Bayas, neurologist, psychiatrist, 3D director and 3D cinematographer, specialized in stereoscopic visual perception and spatial hearing. He has also studied film in the USA, working as a director, always focused on stereoscopic imagery.

Alexandre Rebetez holds a federal capacity certificate obtained within American Express. He has served in special forces and the police as an instructor, with a focus on scenario-based training using simulators.

Luis and Alexandre are working on a sphere prototype designed to mimic the human eye. Luis brings his expertise in stereoscopic imagery, honed through his studies, while Alexandre contributes his experience in scenario-based training using simulators.

Together, they aim to create a highly immersive and realistic simulation experience.

1

Current Panorama

Simulators currently do not meet the needs of doctors, instructors, athletes, elite forces, or gamers. They lack the necessary level of immersion, often cause vestibular issues and nausea, and can lead to discomfort and reduced focus. These problems make them ineffective and unsuitable for extended use in these demanding areas.

2

Objective

Addressing cybersickness, such as nausea and dizziness, is essential for creating realistic training environments where individuals can prepare and experience situations as they would in reality. This is especially important for long-duration sessions, ensuring comfort and immersion. Additionally, effective simulations can reduce the need for real-world exercises, helping to lower CO2 emissions.

3

The solution

The prototype, designed in the shape of a sphere, is engineered to significantly reduce issues related to dizziness, thereby enabling a more sustainable and long-lasting experience. By minimizing disorientation and enhancing stability, this innovative design ensures greater user comfort and immersion. It is particularly well-suited for extended training sessions, allowing users to engage in more realistic simulations without the physical discomfort typically associated with prolonged use. This advancement also paves the way for more effective and eco-friendly training solutions, reducing the need for energy-intensive real-world exercises

b. Prototype

VoluComm has completed the design of the technical drawing for an immersive 3D-stereoscopic MicroLED sphere, a groundbreaking innovation in the current market, before moving on to the prototype, which is set to be developed this year with the help of a Swiss university yet to be chosen. However, several universities have already expressed interest in collaborating with the startup on the prototype’s development.

c. Patents

VoluComm is on the brink of patent registration, carefully fine-tuning every aspect to ensure perfection. This meticulous research is essential for the success of our initiative, as we aim to set new standards in immersive technologies. Our objective is to enhance accessibility and revolutionize the AR/VR experience across numerous applications, paving the way for the future of digital interaction.
